Tumult

Another of my favourite spots to take photos, Hirst Weir is just a bit further downstream than my previous picture. The sound of water rushing over the rocks was deafening. I often wonder what it's like living in one of the apartments in the converted mill. Perhaps the roar of water is more soothing than the roar of traffic.

  1. Looks really wild ! I can almost hear the water rushing down ! I think living in these apartments must be nice, no comparison with traffic noise. Water at least can't horn !

  2. Certainly tumultuous!
I pitched my little tent in an idyllic spot beside a waterfall once. Big mistake - the soothing sound of rushing water kept me awake till 3 in the morning when I finally admitted defeat and moved on in the moonlight.

  4. What a neat shot! I'm sure if the people who live near it have grown accustom to that sound...it probably helps them sleep!

  5. Beautiful! I would love the sound of that rushing water. Not at all annoying like traffic.

  8. We take water for granted, but, as your fine photo shows, it is a powerful force.

  9. It sure looks tumultuous and the river looks full. I'm not sure I would like to put up with the roar all the time in an apartment.
