TdY 2017

 Tour de Yorkshire 2017

Stage 3 started in Bradford city centre and cruised through Saltaire in the warm-up phase before starting to race along Otley Road in Baildon.  It meant all the riders were tightly grouped as they went through the village and it's all over in a few seconds!

Great atmosphere though, and a lot of fun.

First comes the thrilling roar of these powerful police bikes - about eight of them!

Then the riders come, grouped tightly in a pack behind the lead car. The guy in the pink jersey was Stage 2's King of the Mountains - James Gullen, a Brit.

The rider (71) in the foreground above, in the black and green of Team Dimension Data, is the Belgian Serge Pauwels, who went on to win the Stage and the race.

They've still about 190 kms to cycle, at this point!

Then all the team support cars with the spare bikes pour through.

And almost as soon as it starts, it's all over!
