I was idly waiting in the queue for an ice-cream in the Half Moon Café in Roberts Park... They do
very nice ice-cream and it was a warm day, so there was a long queue .... Anyway, my eye was drawn to these tulips, artlessly stuck on a shelf - away from some child's grasping little hand, I guess. (The vases are usually on the tables). The unconscious arrangement and the colours struck me as rather pleasing so I took a photo - a candid still-life, if you can have such a thing. I quite liked the photo as it was but then I started playing around with filters in Photoshop... I can easily get carried away! This is a touch of 'rough pastels' and a bit of vignetting. Oh, it's fun to play!
You can get some remarkable effects in Photoshop. This is a fine example.
ReplyDeleteThe colours work beautifully together - I don't have photo-shop but I'm sure like you I could spend many hours trying different effects.
ReplyDeleteIt is great how you can make something out of nothing. I must start to learn Photoshop.
ReplyDeleteI enjoy playing in Photoshop too...sometimes changing a photo several times with filters. I always like turning off the effects and looking at the original again...sometimes it is still my favorite look, but sometimes I love the results...like in this photo.
ReplyDeleteIt is a very pretty slice of ordinary life. I stay away from special effects, both because I am not a techie and because I would be swallowed up by a timeconsuming new passion.
ReplyDeletelovely...it's fun to play around with the filters!
ReplyDeleteBut more importantly...what flavor of icecream did you get? lol...
Lovely shot - very painterly!
ReplyDeleteA lovely composition!
ReplyDeleteI still don't have Photoshop, but I always enjoy seeing what others come up with to enhance their images. Very nice! ~Lili
