Where earth meets heaven

August up on Yorkshire's moors is one of my favourite months because that's when the heather blooms, layering soft colour on the hillsides as bluebells do in the woods in spring.  Add to that a luminous blue sky and a few fluffy clouds and I really do have that sense of earth meeting heaven in all its glory.

  3. The heather is beautiful. I can remember seeing it from a plane and couldn't believe how far it stretched. A lovely picture of the earth meeting heaven.

  4. being an absolute fan of Brontë sisters,Jane Austen and many other english writers, the idea to "walk in the Moors, among heater blooms", sounds like paradise on earth to me..

  7. Yes but I see difficulty. There is a barrier in the form of a fence between.
The earthly heather is wonderful though. As is the whole photo. Nicely edited Jenny!

  8. Beautiful! It looks a lot like the top of our mountain -- but we have thistles instead of heather, alas!

[And yes, I agree, the woman in the ger is ultimately no different from you and me. One of the wonders I learn to appreciate from travel.]
