Sometimes in the long, dark, dull winter months I crave colour as well as a bit of sunshine. All the more reason then to get out on a sunny afternoon and revisit a favourite local place... the Bingley Five Rise Locks. If not exactly a beauty spot (though not unattractive), at least there is always something interesting to see. The boats moored up for the winter are very colourful. This traditional narrowboat '
Alexandra' is a really beautiful craft. When the canal is icy the reflections are static and muted, a bit different from the usual dancing reflections you find in water.
Sunshine, blue sky and bright colours must cheer up your day. We have hot, steamy grey rainy days which can sometimes make you feel down. But at least we are not cold.
ReplyDeleteIt is something so peaceful and pretty with this image!

Nice reflection and colours. I'm like you looking for colours on a dull winter day. It's a rare sight.
ReplyDeleteI love seeing these boats and their reflections whether icy or not. Great shot.
ReplyDeleteVery cheerful! :)
ReplyDeleteIt's beautiful to see ice on water !
ReplyDeleteAnd I hope you'll go on using your colors , I like what you've one with them !
We have a very sunny but very cold day (-11˚C as I type this) so it isn't a good time for much wandering looking for some colour in the grey world outside!
ReplyDeleteHard to feel bad when you see something this pretty and colorful! I like those icy reflections.
ReplyDeleteThe Alexandra is a gorgeous houseboat Jenny, quite a size, wonder what she looks like inside. Super colourful reflections.
ReplyDeleteMakes me think of a gypsy caravan -- so alluring!
ReplyDeleteI know that feeling.
ReplyDeleteThe owner of this boat made good use of bright colors. It is a beautiful boat.
