Hardcastle Crags

A rain-washed scene more reminiscent of November than early May, but nevertheless it has a certain beauty. The steep-sided, wooded valley known as Hardcastle Crags is sometimes known as Little Switzerland and has been a popular spot for day-trippers for years. It has tumbling streams, waterfalls, rocky crags and miles of footpaths meandering through the woods. It is now in the care of the National Trust.

  3. How is it that every photo of the Yorkshire countryside you take looks like a still from a movie?

  4. BTW, at the car museum I learned that starting around 1920, racing cars had colors to match the country of the car: red for Italy, blue for France, green for England and white for the USA. Later it gets more difficult, as in some racing categories, the color is based on the nationality of the team that entered the car in the race, not the nation that made the car. So, those red racing cars were all sponsored by Italian teams, even the Porsche. Clear?!?!?
