Dales view

I wasn't going to post this one on my blog, though I've put it on Flickr.  A letterbox crop is the wrong shape for the blog really. But since I think it's probably one of my best landscape pictures EVER..... please view large (click on it). It's another view of Langstrothdale, such a scenic and unspoiled place.

  1. I both agree and disagree with you. I disagree, I think the letterbox shape makes a pleasing change on a blog post. I agree, it is one of the best landscapes I have seen in a long time.

  2. Yes, I do think it is an outstanding landscape shot. The lighting is especially good; the clouds are just the right amount and density and the river wending its way into the center of the photo is the cream on top. Sorry, I have such an analytical mind. If I think it's the best, I have to know why :)

  3. Agree with Alan, cropped shots on the blogs are good. Lovely spot, well composed and exposed.

  7. You're right Jenny, it is excellent, I've enjoyed all your shots in this series on the Yorkshire Dales, what a wonderful area to walk.. I use this crop quite often on my blog, I think it works well.

  10. Perfect, jennyfreckles, perfect! Even though I nearly always show photos on my blog that are cropped in the same dimensions as they came out of the camera, there is no good reason to stick to a single format. I agree with the others who say "No, crop it the way you like it and then show it to us." And I agree with you that this wonderful image is one of your best, which is very high praise, given how many lovely images you have shared with us.
