Patriot colours
A reminder of our Jubilympic summer full of red, white and blue - one of the flowerbeds in Roberts Park, Saltaire.
As well as being very wet, the weather is feeling distinctly autumnal here now, with very cold nights (extra duvet weather!). I am loathe to leave the summer behind, still needing a dose of sunshine that I don't feel to have had. Happily I can visit my blog friends in Australia and other sunny climes when I need cheering up - among them Diane, Grace, Dianne and Fiona. Make sure you all keep up a supply of spring photos!

Glad to hear that you haven't been washed out to sea by the recent rains! That's a fine patriotic flower-bed. The Olympics were fun but I quite look forward to the Autumn Gold too.
ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely town you live in! It is calling me to my ancestral roots. Thanks for this delightful arrangement. gin
ReplyDeleteAh, yes, you Brits and we Yanks share the red, white and blue colors. It is getting cool here at night, too, so I am getting ready to head south!
ReplyDeleteIt is getting cold here too...the colors are beautiful, the big harvest moon is hanging in the sky, the geese are honking, but the short hours of daylight are already driving me nuts. I wish I could go to Australia.
ReplyDeleteOkay, I'll see if I can remember to keep you warm. maybe you should send some shots of rain so I can remember what it looks like. We are going to Canberra next week. It is a long way south so it will still be cold. We will be attending my teacher's college 50 year reunion but we will also visit the famous spring Floriade so I should have some shots of that for you. Your flowers are still looking fine. Thank you for advertising my blog. I must visit the others too, I only know of Dianne.
ReplyDeleteSo how hot do you like it Jenny? We had 35C today and we're still in spring, I'm so not ready for summer. How cold does it actually get there in a Saltaire winter?
