Towering majesty
This was taken in Saltaire a week or two ago, and the trees are showing more autumn colour since then. I was enjoying the effect that a telephoto lens has in pulling things together so that everything looks connected. Saltaire's Victoria Hall tower isn't really as close to those houses as it looks here. But I like the combination of shapes.

I like the effect, too. I'm on the verge of buying a 55-200mm lens for my Nikon D3000, and looking forward to using it.
ReplyDeleteThe tower has an interesting architecture. You have my votes on both pics. Good luck.
ReplyDeleteThis is such a pretty shot!
ReplyDeleteLike the image and will check Sat. post!
ReplyDeleteNow that's the perfect title!
ReplyDeleteI like this, and the little touch of red in front of the house. Very pretty. On the question of getting work done with that York view to distract me, I don't always have that room, and in any case, had to lean out of the window for that shot - and more importantly, as my work there is one-to-one English language training there is no possibility of day-dreaming.
ReplyDeleteTerrific shot. What a beautiful location.
ReplyDeleteDarryl and Ruth : )

That's a well-composed scene... I agree with you about the shapes. Nice.
