A spring of water
Another view of the round pool and statue at Parcevall Hall. There is a biblical quote etched into the paving stone, from John 4: 'A spring of water welling up to eternal life'.
The full quote is:
Jesus answered, “Everyone who drinks this water will be thirsty again, but whoever drinks the water I give them will never thirst. Indeed, the water I give them will become in them a spring of water welling up to eternal life.”
I have always found time spent at Parcevall, whether a few hours or a few days, has been a refreshing experience for me. I go back to normal life feeling more grounded, spiritually nourished and with a better perspective on things. I guess we all need to find places we can go to, or activities we can do, that have that effect on us. What is yours?

I would love to spend a few days at Parcevall Hall, Jenny! I enjoy any time in nature, especially in places that are a little remote. My soul is fed by trees, water, mountains, greenery, birds, other wild creatures, flowers, gentle breezes and solitude.
ReplyDeleteI understand why this place is good for your mind.. Sitting on that bench a few hours would be perfect for me too..
ReplyDeleteTo walk alone very early in the morning along the sea, that's what makes me feel better.
Sat in the back room at the White Bear with a glass of real ale, a fresh bag of crisps and a good book in my hand.
ReplyDeleteNo wonder you do, this is serenity and beauty.
ReplyDeleteI can feel the serenity in your wonderful photograph, jennyfreckles. For me, the equivalent is Elizabeth Park, which will not surprise you. It is just two blocks away from me, so it is part of my daily walk. Further away is Squam Lake in New Hampshire, but that is five hours away.
ReplyDeleteWe go to Linden Gardens for our relaxation, renewal, and refreshment. Wonderful Dragonfly picture Jenny!
ReplyDeleteGoing for a nice walk with my camera does it for me - something that I have not had much time for in the last several months!
ReplyDeleteSnorkeling in Mother Nature's Fish Bowl here in the Philippines... but really any road trip will give me the grounding I need.
ReplyDeleteThat is so lovely! We should all have something like this in our lives!
