Homeward bound

Homeward bound on a winter's evening and the lights on Saltaire's Albert Terrace glow warmly in the chill air.

  2. Makes me think, what's going on inside those windows which have lights on...is it supper time for those people, or are they hard at work!

  4. I can still hear the workers wooden clogs with steel rails under them clattering on the cobble stones. Shoes were expensive for outside work and wore out too quickly. In 1960 a pair of good clogs cost one pound and lasted forever.
