A picture postcard view
A picture postcard view from Whisby Nature Park, Lincoln.
This is one of the former gravel pits that have been flooded to make lakes. It's a pretty scene that I enjoyed giving a painterly look with some texture.
There are many such reserves around here - old gravel pits now flooded. What beautiful landscapes they have been transformed into.
ReplyDeleteThe same technique is used here with old quarries, though there is one such place out in Vancouver that got turned into a floral garden.
ReplyDeleteI do like the effect. It feels like Mr. Turner is at work.
What a wonderful way to beautify a previously ravaged piece of land. Love the painterly effect used here. Happy weekend Jenny ✨
ReplyDeleteLovely, Jenny!
ReplyDeleteOne of the former gravel pits by the Weser may now be used by young people to sail their "Optimists".
ReplyDeleteLovely, jennyfreckles.
